IMPORTANT MESSAGE: Your 2019 Water Quality Report is Now Available!!
Dear Water Customer,
The City of Cape Coral is pleased to announce that our 2019 Annual Consumer Report on the Quality of Tap Water is now available online at www.capedrinkingwater.net. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is now allowing Public Water Systems the option to make their Annual Water Quality Report available on the internet in lieu of direct mailing. This more environmentally friendly option still allows you to access the same information while saving money on printing and mailing costs.
The report continues to validate your trust in our Utilities Department, and should provide you with confidence that your drinking water is clean, safe and reliable. The report, that has been reviewed and approved by the Lee County Department of Health as meeting both FDEP and EPA requirements, can be summarized as follows:
The City of Cape Coral’s drinking water meets or surpasses all federal and state drinking water standards.
Additionally, the Annual Report informs water customers where the City’s drinking water comes from, how the water is treated, what it contains, and how it meets federal standards for tap water. It also provides information explaining the Water Quality Data Table, a listing of contaminants not detected, as well as a table showing the 10 contaminants found and their likely source of contamination. More importantly, it makes clear there are no violations and that none of the containments found were above the EPA’s acceptable level.
If you have any questions about the information reported or if you would like a paper copy of the 2019 Annual Report mailed to your home, please contact Karen Otterstein of the Cape Coral Utilities Water Production Division at 239-242-3420 or by email at kotterst@capecoral.net.
